Adrien Bourrel was the second son of Maria Dolores Bourrel (née Alloza), who lived with Louis Lawrence following her separation from her husband. Adrien Bourrel stated he witnessed the construction of the tomb during the early 1930s that contained the remains of Louis Lawrence's mother and grandmother (that commonly became associated with Nicolas Poussin since the 1970s).
