Roger Hanin was a French actor and film director. François Mitterrand was his brother-in-law (Mitterrand visited Rennes-le-Château in March 1981).

Roger Hanin was asked to play the part of Abbé Bérenger Saunière in a film for Pierre Plantard called ‘L'or du diable’, financed by Roger-Patrice Pelat, that never materialised (Le Point, Number 1112, page 11, 8 January 1994).
