The Fantasists & The Priory of Sion

6 January 2026

There only ever was the Priory of Sion of 1956 in Annemasse, named after a nearby hill, originally devoted to the aim of Low-Cost Housing because the poor condition of the accommodation offered to residents left so little to be desired. It was later developed by Pierre Plantard upon his release from prison into something different, whereby he expanded upon an imaginary historical past that we all know about, then later fell out with his accomplice Philippe de Chérisey over the liaison he had with his dentist Paul Rouelle. A third Priory of Sion [1] [2] was later invented by Pierre Plantard with a brand new Grand Masters List, where Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln were ejected out of his company as being “worthless miscreants” (kept secret by the trio). Plantard was later warned by a French magistrate for wasting Police time about including the name of Roger-Patrice Pelat as “Grand Master of the Priory of Sion” – after which he stopped his activities and retired completely. That is the poor story of the Priory of Sion.

Of course, there are the esotericists and the conspiracy theorists where everything ALWAYS exists as a fantasy, and every single ounce of fact exists as a theory, and “THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES”. Everything and anything that anyone says, however stupid or insane, carries equal weight according to their limitations of perception. Two plus two does not equal four – it equals anything that you want it to.

So we get Rubbish like this that replaces the real facts. The Rubbish is always far more welcome than the facts because they are (allegedly) “more exciting ”.

The people that are unable to think properly have a right to their views – however illogical their views may be – so long as the right to put those views to the critical test is also allowed to exist.
