Religion & Science – Tunnels of the Imagination

The difference between Religion and Science?
To me, there is a straightforward explanation.
Religion has got all the answers to everything from the very beginning culminating in the belief in God (except in Buddhism where there is no Deity).
Science is also a form of belief, but it is willing to reverse its position whenever new information comes to light about something or other and this is welcomed within Science. Unlike Religion – which is dogmatic in the extreme that it is correct from its foundation and it cannot be changed – anyone who tries to alter accepted religious belief is either deemed a heretic or an “apostate” and becomes summarily excommunicated. Of course, Science also has a similar approach within itself – it rejects the likes of Immanuel Velikovsky and Zecharia Sitchin for being pseudo-scientific, because they represent a minority and their position is belief-based rather than fact-based on evidence.
At this moment in time, Science is digging a hole in the ground – not to find out the reason for the Universe's existence – but to study the Universe in a way that can help answer questions about its origin and evolution. I wish science would not try and do things like this because it's outside the sphere of human consciousness and investigation. It's like trying to find out the “Missing Link” – we simply will not have enough evidence to find out the source of the Human Species – all that we will ever have will be fragments: not enough.
The Human Species has limitations about what it can find out about itself and the Universe. But let's leave Religious Belief where it belongs, in the cesspit of ignorance because it is based upon wishful thinking and the fixation that escapism is more important than reality.
