Yes, we have known all about the hoax concerning Abbé Saunière being a Freemason for a long time now – it can very easily be deduced from the Statue of the Devil being pulverized by the Holy Water Stoup in the church of Rennes-le-Château. It is every bit as obvious as the hoax that Abbé Saunière discovered a treasure. We are in possession of the earliest article about the Freemasonic Hoax of Rennes-le-Château.
The real story of course would be the admission that Abbé Saunière’s discovery of a treasure is also a hoax. You would only need to repeat what the Ministry of Culture and DRAC believe.
There is also this statement found in a document dated 16 October 1899 by the Sub-Prefect of Limoux to the Prefect of the Aude: “Monsieur Saunière is comfortably off. He has no family responsibilities. His conduct is good. He professes anti-government views. Attitude: militant reactionary.”
Grand Orient Freemasonry in France to this day holds the same anti-clerical views as the French Republic. Abbé Saunière had nothing to do with that – and as for irregular Grand Occident Freemasonry, there is no evidence that Abbé Saunière had anything to do with that either. There are no references at all in the archives of Le Hieron du Val d’Or mentioning Abbé Saunière or Rennes-le-Château. As much as the Believers try to do their very best in presenting “realistic accounts” – they will always and ultimately remain beyond rehabilitation!
