The Rennes-le-Château Believers are trying to con us into believing that the Devil’s Armchair by Rennes-les-Bains is unique. In fact there are many such rock formations scattered around France with similar names. One such example below.

There are several examples of locations called “The Devil’s Armchair” or “The Devil’s Chair” in the United Kingdom – none of them as distinctive as those rock formations found in France, but they still all have similar legends. One of the most prominent is on Hoad Hill in Ulverston. Another is located on the Stiperstones in Shropshire, also known as the “Devil's Chair”. Additionally, a cove near Paignton in Devon is sometimes referred to as “Devil's Armchair”. The specific location and associated legends vary between different areas, but the name generally evokes a sense of mystery and the supernatural. The rock formations in the United Kingdom are all a product of the last Ice Age, just like in France.
