Latest Generation of The Mysteries of Rennes-le-Château

Yannick Thomassine is evidently the latest victim of the Rennes-le-Château Hoax – wishing to invite many other people to join him in being a victim of the Hoax. It can be concluded that the French article by Yannick Thomassine contained 2,154 words of NOTHING that was of any substance.

Caroline Machut seems to be the copyright holder of this latest piece of nonsense.

None of this impresses the French Ministry of Culture or DRAC. It is merely another boring reminder of the same old story that has been discredited a million times over.

Abbé Bérenger Saunière died in extreme poverty in 1917 owing money to his greengrocer. Marie Denarnaud, his maidservant, could not afford to buy Saunière's coffin until June! Marie Denarnaud had accrued so many debts 1917-1946 that she could not afford to pay them off, and allowed Abbé Saunière's Domain to be kept by Noël Corbu in return for his repayment of her debts 1917-1946. It was after the death of Marie Denarnaud in 1953 that Noël Corbu was the first to invent the “Mystery of Rennes-le-Château”.

The whole story has been a hoax that has always been used since the late 1960s by the local commune as a Tourist Attraction.

Johan Netchacovitch, Webmaster of the Rennes-le-Château Gazette, is especially passionate about this hoax.

There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that Abbé Bérenger Saunière got his wealth from trafficking in masses – but absolutely no proof that the priest discovered a treasure (we are still waiting for one piece of evidence after 70 years), or from any other source that is attractive to the romantics.
