20 October 2025 Ah yes, LAVAL – that inspired the word LAVATORY. The Babylonians captured the Ark of the Covenant when they took Jerusalem in 586 BC and used it as a LAVATORY – the Israelites themselves destroyed a shrine of Baal at Samaria and used that as a LATRINE (2 Kings 10:27). This Biblical passage being sometimes cited in relation to archaeological finds, such as a stone toilet found in a defiled shrine at LAchish.
