How To Make Money Without Finding Treasure
13 April 2026
In Abbé Saunierè's draft for his speech dated 6 June 1897, he says in part about the finances for the renovations of his church: “I owe them a little to my parishioners; a lot to my savings, to the devotion and generosity of a few souls outside the parish” – thus carefully avoiding making any references to the testimony (to use but only one example), of René Delpech from Montazels, who deliberated upon events that happened during Abbé Saunière’s period at Rennes-le-Château. Quote: “During the time that Saunière was curé of Rennes a relative of mine, Édouard Saunière, who was not related to the curé by the way, was working as the teacher there. He told me that often, when the curé came down to Couiza, he would give him fistfuls of postal-orders to cash at the post-office. The individual sums involved were very small – 25 centimes, 50 centimes, or 1 franc. But the curé was sent a very great many of them. He'd probably launched an extensive appeal for funds for the restoration of the church, and had advertised not just in France but outside it as well”.
Indeed, this could very well have been the very source of Abbé Saunierè's wealth. Abbé Saunière could have used a French Clergyman’s Directory to establish his contacts and would have asked various priests to consult their parishioners in order to send him money in Rennes-le-Château for masses. There is absolutely no need for any “treasure discovery”!
It is hilarious how some people try to find evidence for a “treasure discovery” through cross-examining Sauniere's writings when he does not even mention the subject matter! This can only be described as the height of subjective and arbitrary personal judgments to satisfy one’s wishful thinking!
This has all been stated before many times!
Whilst it's true that Psychology may be used in a serious and worthwhile manner – there are also times when it can be misused through people's impatience and misunderstanding to gain a specific agenda!
To fulfil a particular “Psychological Agenda” to selfishly feed one’s own desires would not simply be unethical but also highly devious in the extreme!
